How to Sign Up on Yuwie!

To sign up as a member of YUWIE.

First you needed to type the referral URL of the person who invited you,

If you are invited thru email, all you need to do is click on the link. It is very important that you have a referral. Besides being an instrument to introduce you to this wonderful site, he/she can personally help you if you have questions on the ins and out of yuwie-ing.

A video of how Yuwie works will come into sight on the first page when you click or enter the referral URL, there are three stages of video, if you are interested you can view them all, but if you are eager, you can just click the SIGN UP NOW button underneath.

Next you will be prompted by a SIGN UP form, and at the top of it, is the person who actually refers you. If it is right then you go ahead, but if isn’t, then delete all the cookies of your browser and try the above procedure again. Don't know how to delete cookies? Click here!

The first section of the form is the email address, and it said that a valid email address is required for membership, you need it to activate your account, if you don’t have, just create one before you proceed.

Type your email address twice.

Password should be 6 to 32 alpha numeric character (A-Z and 0 – 9), and don’t use your name or surname as a password.

First name and Surname.

You can click on the little arrow down to choose from male or female.

Your age should not be less than 14 years old.

You can select your country list by clicking on the Arrow down on the right side.

Move the scroll bar on the right side to navigate, click your country on the list to select.

The ZIP code is the system of postal codes, an acronym for Zone Improvement Plan, which allow a piece of mail to be directed to a more precise location by the ZIP code alone.

A personal URL is the URL that identifies a person. It should be unique among other members. It could be your name, call sign, code name or your nickname.

Answer to the Security Question is your secondary password. A question that Yuwie will ask in case you forgot your password.

And the last thing you should do is to click the little box to signify your acceptance to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Then Click NEXT.

A confirmation dialog box will appear, just click OK.

For the last time you can verify if all the data entered are all correct, and then type the verification code on the box and click NEXT.

Now you’re done, on the next page you will be prompted to upload a photo.

If you have your photo to upload. Click here for the procedure.

You can skip this procedure if at this time you don’t want or you don't have the photo, just click the SKIP PHOTO UPLOAD at the bottom.

Next is the invite friends page, you can type in the email address of your friend on the first box and your message for them which is optional on the second box. Then click SEND INVITES! Or you can click SKIP THIS STEP at the bottom if you want. You can invite them later.

A dialog box will confirm if you really don’t want to invite friend/s, just click NO RIGHT NOW to continue.

Now here comes the main page of Yuwie. But wait were not done yet. You need to confirm your account, before you can invite friends and send them messages.

On the System Messages section click CONFIRM YOUR ACCOUNT.

A confirmation that a message has been sent to your email.

Next step is to go to your email provider (e.g. yahoo, gmail, hotmail, etc.) then sign in on your account and find the message about Yuwie Registration, then click the link next to PLEASE ACTIVATE YOUR ACCOUNT BY CLICKING THE LINK BELOW.

A confirmation that you have already activated your account.

Close your email account.

You can now start your Yuwie session.

Paano gumawa ng sariling banner

Ang MySpace, Friendster at iba pang social networking site ay meron ng “filter” para sa word na Yuwie kapag gumamit tayo ng banner galing sa Yuwie Referral Tool, para maiwasan ang filter, kailangan nating gumawa ng ibang banner.

Ito po ang banner na galing sa Yuwie.

Ito po ang HTML code nya.

Kung papansinin nyo ang unang link, ito ay http://www.r.yuwie.com/erwinfadri na nasa pagitan ng dalawang qoutation marks. ito po ang URL ng aking sariling referral sign up page.

Kung gusto kung gumamit ng ibang URL, kailangan kung palitan ang link na yon, pwede tayong gumawa ng ibang URL o splash page para di madetect ng "Yuwie Filter ng MySpace o Friendster. At ipapalit natin ang URL na yong sa Banner HTML. Meron po akong ginawang page sa blogger http://join-yuwie.blogspot.com.
Ganito po ang magiging itsura.

Ang banner po ay ganon pa rin ang itsura pero ang link po ay iba na, ito po ay papunta sa page na ginawa ko sa blogger. Ito po ang magiging itsura.

Punta po tayo sa medyo masalimuot na parte, kung inyo pong mapapansin ang pangalawang URL sa HTML code ng banner. Ito po ay napapaloob sa ikalawang dalawang quotation marks. Ito po yong http://www.yuwie.com/images/banners/banner.gif
Ito po ang lokasyon ng “actual picture” ng banner na ginagamit natin. Pwede po tayong gumamit ng kahit anong litrato na gusto natin kapalit ng banner na yon. Halimbawa, pwede kung gamitin ang aking litrato. Meron po akong inapload na sa photobucket, kukunin lang po natin ang Direct link ng ating uploaded photo. Ngayon pwede na po nating palitan ang pangalawang URL ng address ng ating litrato. Ganito na po ang magiging itsura.

At ganito po ang mangyayari.

Pero pwede po nating lagyan “title” ang ating litrato, para kapag po tumigil ang mouse pointer sa ating litrato, merong lilitaw ng titulo. Ganito lamang po iyon gawin. Dadagdagan lang po natin sa pagitan ng “a” at ng “href” sa unahang bahagi ng HTML.

Ito po ang pwede nating ilagay.

Upload Photo during Sign up

Click BROWSE

A Choose File Dialog box will appear, click the LOOK IN box, a drop down box will emerge, click on the Drive then Directory and Sub-directory if any.

You can view the thumbnails of your images by selecting it on the View menu.

Then select the file and click OPEN.

Then click UPLOAD.

A dialog of Uploading will appear, wait until it finished.

Tip on Creating Email Address

When creating account in Yahoo mail, use US as your country. I have experience trouble receiving verification mail from Yuwie with my first email set my country as Philippines, in fact I never recieve any. You can also try Gmail from Google, AOL or Hotmail from Microsoft.

Delete Browser History

To delete temporary file, history, cookies, saved passwords and web form information, click on TOOLS select INTERNET OPTIONS.

Find the BROWSING HISTORY option and click DELETE

On the DELETE BROWSING HISTORY dialog box, you can select the option you want to delete or you can click DELETE ALL.

A confirmation dialog box asking if you really want to delete the history will appear, click the check box and hit YES to continue.

A deleting history progress bar will be displayed, wait until it finish.

How To Change Your Layout

Yuwie, unlike any other social networking site when you want to change your profile layout you can do that without needing to find a layout website, it is included. All you have to do is click LAYOUT on the menu bar.

On the left side of the page there are list of categories to choose from, select the layout category.

Then select the layout you like. Just click anywhere on the box.

If you find the right layout, you can now click the USE THIS LAYOUT button located at the top of the page.

How to Change Primary Photo

On the Control Panel click EDIT PROFILE.

Click CHANGE YOUR PHOTO under the current photo.

Photo should not exceed more than 1 MB of file size, JPG or GIF files only. Then click BROWSE.

When the Choose File dialog box appear click the LOOK IN drop down box and locate the folder of your file, then select it and click OPEN.

Then click UPLOAD.

Wait until the progress bar finish

A confirmation that your photo has been uploaded, to refresh your page press F5.

Using Advance Template Editor

First you need to copy a code from a code on any website offering a layout for a social networking site. You can Google to find a site or you can Click here! to see the list.

Right click inside the Layout Code box and Select COPY

Go to the Layout Tab, on the Style Sheet box right click and select PASTE and click the PREVIEW button underneath.

If you are satisfied with the appearance of the layout you can now save the template, if now you can click the back button of the browser of click the Modify This Template.

When you click Save This Template! Button, a confirmation dialog box asking you if you really want to save the Template. Click OK.

You will be back to the Layout Area.

The template is not yet your profile layout. You need to click the USE button for the created template to be applied on your profile.

Using Template Generator

If you want to share your temple to other you can replace the default NO, and change that to YES. Then put the Template Name on the next box.

On the BACKGROUND section, you can click the PICK to choose your background color.

Image URL is were your image has been uploaded. Copy that direct URL and paste it in the box. Don’t know how to upload images? Click here!

Image Position: where you image is the alignment of your image.

Image Repeat: If your image is smaller than 800 x 600 us the REPEAT option.

Image is Fixed?: If you want your image to move when you scroll replace it with YES.

Hide Background?: if you want your background to be hide.

Column Background is divided into two sections, Left Column is smaller than the Right Column.

Border Size: you can choose from 1 px up to 10 px.

Border Style: Choose Dotted, Dashed, Solid, Double, Groove, Ridge, Inset and Outset.

User Options Table is where your Send Message, Add Friend, etc. are located.

When you put color on your Profile Tables it will be on top of your Left and Right Column Background.

Table Header is the option for all the Section Heading – (Blog, Shoutbox, Friends, Personal URL, Users Options, Comments, Bio, and Clubs)

Color on the text section will replace almost all the text color on your profile.

Links color will replace all of the color of all the text with link – (Blog title, Picture, Layout, Comments options and Name of your Friends)

When the mouse cursor hovers over a link changes to display a second image in its place, font color in this case.

Finally a notes telling you that HTML is not allowed, you can now click the Preview button.

If you are satisfied with the appearance of the layout you can now save the template, if now you can click the back button of the browser of click the Modify This Template.

When you click Save This Template! Button, a confirmation dialog box asking you if you really want to save the Template. Click OK.

You will be back to the Layout Area.

How to Create Custom Layout

Go to your control panel, click EDIT PROFILE.

Then click the LAYOUT tab, and hit the CLICK HERE TO CREATE A NEW TEMPLATE.

If you want to create a new template, you can either use:

Template Generator - with the generator you can choose colors, and styles for each section of your profile. Click here.

Advanced Editor - This is where you copy and paste layouts from other sites. Click here.
